The 3rd APO International Conference on Biofertilizers and Biopesticides

The five-year International Conference on Biofertilizers and Biopesticides (ICBB) originated from the 2015 International Symposium on Biopesticides & Biofertilizers for Sustainable Agriculture held by the Plant Technology Laboratories of the Agriculture Technology Research Institute (“ATRI Plant Technology Laboratories”) on October 13th and 14th, 2015. The government officials, experts and scholars from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam were invited to participate in the conference where a decision was made to establish a regional alliance of biopesticide and biofertilizer industry, which would provide a platform for discussing the scope of use, application management and industrial development, thereby promoting regional technical cooperation and integrating management regulations. The foregoing five-year plan draft will be subsequently applied to solve the technology development and industrialization issues through brainstorming and to reach a consensus on the future development direction. It is expected to strengthen the interaction and cooperation between Taiwan and APO member countries, integrate and adjust the management regulations of each country, facilitate scientific research cooperation, and create international cooperation opportunities.
