The Green Technical Service Team, in collaboration with Environmental Science Institute (ESI) of Vietnam, hosted a Taiwan-Vietnam Environmental Industry Cooperation Panel Discussion in Hanoi on December 6th and 7th, during which the attendees exchanged ideas and insights on industrial dust treatment policies, current industry practice and recycling standards. The conference included a field trip to Mong Duong Thermal Plant 1, a coal-fired power plant, to understand the current dust treatment practice in local power plants. 42 guests attended the panel discussion, including Vietnam Electricity (VEN), local coal-fired power plants and representatives from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Taiwan representatives included experts from the academia and the industries, including Taiwan Power Research Institute, Department of Civil and Construction Engineering of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan Concrete Institute and Chin-Wei Corp.), to share the coal combustion waste recycling program and the adoption process. The president of ESI expressed his appreciation for the experience-sharing session that benefits the academia and industries in Vietnam. The ESI will report the conclusion of the panel discussion to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and follow up with the Green Technical Service Team with a cooperative coal combustion waste treatment model proposal.
