APO Solar Energy Instructional System Demonstration Project Implemented in Indonesia - Outcomes Presentation
The Green Technical Service Team of Asian Productivity Organization visited Indonesia in August to present the results of APO’s solar energy instructional system demonstration project, together with the staff of Tatung Company and Tatung University.
The Indonesian Ministry of Labor highly recognized the demonstration project outcomes and wished to incorporate the solar energy system installation courses into the training program of 21 vocational training centers across the country. The Ministry of Labor put forward the teaching equipment and manpower requirements and hoped to cooperate with Tatung University in its professional training program and negotiate with Datung Company for equipment procurement.
The Indonesian Ministry of Rural Affairs also strongly agreed with powering the rural areas and outlying islands with renewable energy and proposed to cooperate with the Green Technical Service Team to conduct an outlying island solar microgrid system pilot project in conjunction with the “10 New Bali Project” announced by the Indonesian government.
The Green Technical Service Team has established a working group with the Indonesian Ministry of Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Labor and Tatung Company. A site survey is arranged to be conducted in the end of this year for the pilot project in the hope of expanding the green energy business opportunities in the rural areas of Indonesia.
