India is a rapidly developing market. Taiwanese products are comparable with their European and American counterparts in quality but with more flexible pricing policies. Taiwanese vendors are also quick to integrate technologies in response to needs. It is time for vendors to chart new territory in the Indian market. The Green Technical Service Team to India, building on the existing tradition and practice of green technology applications in India, focuses its effort on water treatment, green technology and recycling, incorporating IoT and cloud computing technologies where appropriate. The service team aims to promote research in technology applications, provide training programs and establish cooperative demonstration sites. The long-term objective of the team’s continuing engagement in India is to establish a business model for water treatment technology and smart management and to export clean technologies and energy-efficient equipment. The team’s goal for year 2018 is to deliver at least one wastewater treatment and energy efficiency training course and to facilitate the installation of demonstration wastewater treatment machines.

The Green Technical Service Team’s trip to India in November had several achievements. The team delivered one industrial wastewater treatment and smart control training course in Delhi CEPT and Ranitec CETP in Chennai, respectively. The two sessions were well-attended with almost one hundred wastewater treatment business leaders. HT Green Technology took the opportunity and installed a ceramic membrane bioreactor (CMBR) demonstration module in August, followed by the signing of a non-disclosure agreement (DNA) and technology transfer with Ranitec CETP in November. For this trip, the Green Technical Service Team applied to APO Secretariat for allocating resources to the Center of Excellence on Green Productivity in order to finance the appointment of a special advisor, Liang Te-Ming from ITRI, to accompany the service team to India in order to advise on water management procedure diagnosis and solution panning. ITRI also used the opportunity to network with potential partners, TWIC, Ranitec CETP and Delhi CETP, for future proposal and collaboration on demonstration sties.
